Community-focused Design: Wormley Estate
| GHP worked with the Borough of Broxbourne Council to engage the local community on the Wormley Estate in the redevelopment of their community centre. Artist Simon Honey took up residence on the estate for three months, during which time he captured individuals’ perceptions about their community’s profile and what could make a better community centre. Simon used a number of creative methods to capture this information including interviewing, filming, and photographing people around the estate. This work has resulted in a 12 minute DVD to inform the development of the architects’ concept drawings, as well as the officers who will be working with the Housing Association to address the onsite programming of activities. >>Find Out More Project Type Perception AREA Partner Links www.artsgenerate.org.uk www.fundamental.uk.net | The Team | | | | Borough of Broxbourne | | Leisure Project Manager | | Arts Development Officer | | Area Manager | | Environmental Support Services Manager | | Senior Building Surveyor | | Assistant Housing Manager | | Housing Manager | | Corporate Projects Officer | | | | Artists | | | Simon Honey | | | Fundamental Architectural Inclusion | | | Photos: Simon Honey / AREA © |
