Green Heart is a Partnership initiative between Arts Council England, East and the eleven local authorities of Hertfordshire that aims to achieve growth and capacity between the arts and environment sectors. It looks to effect social change through policy development and realise creatively led capital development through informed joined-up decision making.

With Our Ears to the Ground

Artists Group Proboscis are currently exploring Hertfordshire residents' ideas about community in order to develop a better understanding of communities in the county. This Herts-wide project for HCC's Strategic Partnerships Unit aims to inform a new Community Cohesion Strategy for the county.

The project is overseen by a project team made up of officers from Hertfordshire County Council, Watford Borough Council, North Hertfordshire District Council, Stevenage Borough Council and Broxbourne Borough Council.

This autumn Proboscis will be out and about getting a broad range of opinions from people in four parts of the county: in Watford, Stevenage, rural North Hertfordshire and the commuter areas of Broxbourne.

The information they collect will be presented in a visually exciting publication which will help Hertfordshire County Council and its partners to plan their work over the next few years to support and build stronger communities where people feel valued, a sense of belonging, and get along well together.
