Just a reminder about the PowerPoint presentation and guidance notes for the Officers to present to their Members. This working tool can accommodate groups or individual meetings and allows opportunity for Members to ask relevant questions of their Officers. It is available on the Partners pages of the greenheartpartnership.org website so that each time an officer wants to present, they can download the latest version.

NALGAO County Meeting
Sherry and Tony presented to a small but attentive group, including the Chair and Vice Chair of NALGAO. The group were very interested in Green Heart Partnership and suggested a GHP presentation at their next national conference.
GO-East Masterclass, Parklife – Cultural and Liveability
On 26 April 2006, Sherry Dobbin attended a masterclass where GHP was presented as one of the three case studies regarding how East of England can tackle making cleaner, safer and greener environment is a vital part of neighbourhood renewal. Arts Council East will work with the ODPM to contextualise the debate and help facilitate the round table discussion then a Q&A panel.
LAA event: Safer and Stronger Communities
Sherry Dobbin gave a presentation with Philippa Brent-Isherwood, East Herts District Council, to the Community Engagement theme group on 28 April 2006 at the University of Herts. The presentation focused on the Sele Project as a case study. In discussion with Hilary Shade, Head of Asset Management at Hertsmere Borough Council, it emerged that the Green Flag theme group had discussed the need for a county-wide approach to future open space design and tools to help with fundraising to support this. Hilary was interested in GHP, and the Open Space project in particular, and joined the team for the June meeting for this project to talk about the LAA.
LGA Cultural Services Conference, Norwich, 29 March 2006
Tony Beckwith and Dr Steven Halls, Chief Executive TRDC, hosted a workshop titled ‘Supporting Local Government’ focusing on Arts Council partnerships with local authorities. GHP was requested to be presented as a national case study that demonstrates a new way forward in progressive governance and effective partnership working. The conference audience is made up of senior officers and elected members as well as representatives from relevant government departments or other agencies (such as Arts Council).
